Publish briefs to Notion
Connect a Notion integration to a project, choose the parent page briefs land under, and publish a brief as a Notion page you can republish.
Connect Notion and any brief can be published as a page under a parent you choose — and republished in place when the brief changes.
Before you begin
- Role: project Editor or Lead. A workspace Admin is a lead on every project.
- In Notion: permission to create an internal integration, and a page to publish under.
- To hand: that integration's secret.
- Time: five minutes.
What Adduce sends
The brief, rendered as Notion blocks. Sections are only written when the brief has them:

A page is capped at 200 blocks; a brief longer than that is trimmed from the bottom and the page says so. Comments, roadmap items and evidence are not published, and the page ends with a line back to the brief — republishing overwrites the page, so a comment left in Notion is lost when it does.
Permissions the integration needs
Create an internal integration, and give it three content capabilities:

Sharing is the second half of this. A Notion integration sees nothing until a page is shared with it, so the parent page must be shared explicitly.
Steps
In Notion, open notion.so/profile/integrations, create a New integration of type Internal, and give it Read, Insert and Update content. Copy its secret.
Still in Notion, open the page you want briefs to live under, and share it with the integration from its ••• menu, under Connections.
In Adduce, open the project, choose Sources, and scroll to Publishing. Paste the secret into Internal integration secret and choose Connect. Adduce calls Notion before storing anything, and names the connection after your Notion workspace.
Choose Choose a parent page, search for the page you shared, and pick it. Only pages shared with the integration appear.
Open a brief and choose Publish to Notion. The button reads Publishing… while the page is built, then becomes Open in Notion.
Edit the brief later and choose Update Notion page. A dot on that button means the brief has changed since it was last published.
When Adduce sends
Only when you choose to publish. Publishing is not automatic and does not follow the brief: a brief edited after publishing keeps its old Notion page until you republish it.
Republishing rewrites the same page rather than making a new one. If you deleted the page in Notion, the next publish makes a fresh one at a new address. If Notion is briefly unavailable, Adduce tries three times before reporting a failure, and the button becomes Retry publish.
Disconnect or replace credentials
On the Notion card choose Disconnect. Pages already published stay in Notion, but Adduce can no longer update them, so a later publish creates a new page — reconnecting does not relink the old ones. Change parent moves only future pages; pages already published stay where they are.
If it did not work
Why does the parent picker say no pages were found?
The integration exists but nothing has been shared with it. In Notion, open the page you want, use its ••• menu, choose Connections, and add the integration. Then search again.
Why did Publish to Notion fail with nothing to retry?
The stored secret no longer works. Notion refuses it, the card on Sources flips to an error, and the fix is to create a fresh secret in Notion and connect again — publishing resumes with the same parent page.
Why is there no Publish to Notion button on my brief?
Either Notion is not connected to this project, or no parent page is chosen yet. The button only appears once both are true, because a publish with nowhere to publish to would fail on every click.
