Get Adduce in Slack
Install the Adduce app in your Slack workspace, link your Slack identity, and choose the channel that receives digests, alerts and sync outcomes.
The Slack app does two things: it answers questions asked of Adduce in a thread, and it posts digests, alerts and sync outcomes into a channel you nominate.
Installing is not self-serve yet
Workspace install runs through an install link that has to be configured for your workspace first. Until it is, the Slack settings page says so and asks you to contact support. Everything below is otherwise as described.
Before you begin
- Role: workspace Admin to install and to set delivery targets. Any member can link their own Slack identity.
- In Slack: permission to add an app to the workspace.
- To hand: the ID of the channel proactive posts should go to.
- One thing to know: Slack is connected once for the whole workspace, not per project.
What Adduce sends

Answers are scoped to the person asking. Adduce uses the asker's own project access, so a question in a public channel never returns anything that person could not already open in Adduce.
Permissions and what the app can do

Anything that would write in Adduce — a comment, an edit — pauses in the thread for approval, with an approve and a deny button.
Steps
As a workspace Admin, open Settings → Integrations → Slack and choose Install Adduce for Slack under Connect your Slack workspace, then complete Slack's own install.
Back in Slack, that same admin mentions or DMs Adduce once. That first link is what binds the Slack workspace to your Adduce organization; a member doing it first links only themselves.
Everyone who wants to use Adduce in Slack mentions or DMs it once. Adduce replies privately with a link back to Adduce.
Open that link and choose Confirm link. The page confirms the account is linked; the link is single-use, so ask Adduce again if it has expired.
Ask a question in a Slack thread. Adduce answers in the same thread, against the earliest project in your organization — there is no per-channel project picker yet.
Back on the Slack settings page, under Slack delivery targets, enter the Slack channel ID — the C… value from the channel's details in Slack — leave Project ID (optional) blank for the whole organization, choose which kinds to deliver, and choose Save delivery target.
When Adduce sends
Answers go out the moment you ask. Notifications go out as the events happen, alongside the in-app notification rather than instead of it: a Slack post that fails is logged and retried once, and never blocks the copy in your inbox.
One delivery target holds for the whole organization, and one more can be set per project; a project's own target wins for that project.
Disconnect or replace credentials
On the workspace row choose Disconnect. Adduce stops answering mentions and DMs and stops posting notifications for that workspace, and every member has to link again after it is reconnected. There is no separate credential to rotate: the install is the credential.
If it did not work
Why is there no install button on the Slack settings page?
Workspace install is not available for your workspace yet, and the card says so in place of the button. Contact support; nothing you can do in Slack will produce the button.
Why does Adduce keep sending me a link instead of answering?
Your Slack identity is not linked to an Adduce account yet, or it is linked to an account with no role on the project. Open the link and choose Confirm link; if it still happens, ask a project lead to add you to the project.
Why did nothing arrive in the channel I chose?
The three usual causes are a channel ID that is not the one you meant, a kind that was not ticked, and a project-level target overriding the organization-wide one. Check the delivery targets table, which lists each target's scope, channel and kinds.
