Configure a project
Open Project settings as a lead to change a project's name and colour, keep findings for the right number of days, tune the Watcher, and delete the project.
Every project carries its own settings, and only a lead can open them. The defaults are sensible, so most projects never need this page; it is here for the day one does.
Before you begin
- Role: project Lead. A workspace Admin is a lead on every project. Anyone else who opens Project settings meets a not-found page, even though the link is in their sidebar.
- Time: a few minutes.
Steps
Open the project and choose Project settings at the foot of the sidebar. The rail lists General, Members, Roadmaps, Agents and Danger zone. Add people to a project covers Members.
Under General, Project details holds the Name, an optional Description, the Color swatches, and the logo (Upload logo, then Crop logo and Save logo; an image must be 2 MB or smaller). Choose Save changes. A toast says Project updated.
Still under General, Finding settings holds Archive findings after (days): an active finding whose window ended more than this many days ago is archived on its own. Enter a whole number from 7 to 365 and choose Save changes.
Under Roadmaps, each row is a forecast of the project, and the one marked Default opens first. The ⋯ menu offers Rename… and Delete…; a forecast that is the project's current commitment cannot be deleted until another is committed. Create roadmap adds one from its New roadmap name.
Under Agents, the Watcher card is the nightly metric check. Enable the Watcher turns it on; then set the Sensitivity (Conservative, Balanced or Aggressive), whether to Re-alert on escalation and at what Escalation threshold (5 to 1000 per cent worse than the last alert), and the Mute duration (1 to 365 days) a muted metric stays silent for. Choose Save changes. The card shows the Last snapshot and the moves flagged in the last seven days. The Investigator card below it runs on demand from Chat and has nothing to configure.
Under Danger zone, Delete opens Delete project? Type the project's name and choose Delete project. The project, its sources, evidence, themes and briefs are removed, and this cannot be undone.
Why
Leads own these controls because each one changes what every member of the project sees: the name in their sidebar, which findings are still open, when the Watcher wakes them, and whether the project exists at all.
If it did not work
Why does Project settings say not found?
You hold a role below Lead on this project. Ask a lead or a workspace Admin to make the change.
Why are the Watcher's controls greyed out?
Enable the Watcher is off, so there is nothing to tune. Switch it on first. The Escalation threshold also stays off until Re-alert on escalation is on.
Why can I change the details but not the findings or the Watcher?
Project details opens to editors as well as leads; the rest of the page is for leads only, and says so under each section.
