Invite your team
Invite a colleague into your workspace by email, give them a workspace role, and spend one of the licences you are billed for.
An invitation puts someone in your workspace and spends one of the licences it is billed for; what they can then see is decided project by project.
Before you begin
- Role: workspace Admin. Only an Admin may invite, change a role, or remove a member.
- Licence: one free licence. Invitations are gated on the licences you are billed for, not on how many people have accepted.
- To hand: the person's work email address.
- Time: one minute per person.
Steps
Choose Workspace settings at the foot of the sidebar, then Members. The Active tab lists everyone in the workspace and Pending lists invitations nobody has accepted yet.
Choose Invite colleague and fill in an optional Name, the person's Email, and a Role. Member holds nothing at workspace level — everything a member does happens inside a project they have been added to. Admin manages members, billing and workspace settings, and is a lead on every project without being added to any of them.
Choose Send invitation. The row appears under Pending until the person follows the link in their email and joins; they land in the workspace with the role you picked and no project access yet.
Why a licence, not a headcount
A licence is what you are billed for, so it is what an invitation spends. Sending an invitation reserves a licence whether or not the person ever accepts, which is why revoking a stale invitation gives one back.
If it did not work
Why is Send invitation greyed out?
Every licence you are billed for is already assigned, and the form says so under the Role field. Change the number of seats under Workspace settings → Billing, or revoke an invitation nobody accepted, and the button comes back.
Why can the person not see any project?
Workspace membership grants nothing inside a project. A new Member sees an empty projects list until someone adds them to a project and gives them a project role.
