Create a project
Create a project to give one product area its own sources, themes, briefs and members inside your workspace.
A project scopes everything Adduce gathers: its sources, the themes synthesised from them, the briefs you write, and who can see them.
Before you begin
- Role: workspace Admin. A workspace member cannot create a project, because creating one commits the whole workspace to a plan allowance.
- Plan: every plan includes projects, and how many depends on the plan. The dialog tells you when you have reached the limit.
- Time: two minutes.
Steps
Open Projects from the workspace sidebar. The table lists every project in the workspace.
Choose New project. Give it a Name your team already uses, an optional Description, and a Color — the colour is the project's mark in the sidebar, in lists, and beside its name in the header.
Choose Create project. You land on the new project with no sources yet, and the sidebar switches to project mode: Chat, then Pulse and Pipeline, Strategy, Sources, Themes and Watch, Briefs, Investigations, Roadmap and Tasks, and Project settings.
Why
Sources, themes and briefs never cross projects. Two products with different users get two projects; one product with two teams gets one project and two roles.
If it did not work
Why does the dialog say I have reached my project limit?
Your plan's project allowance is used up. The dialog replaces the form with the way out: on the smaller plan it offers the upgrade, and on the larger one it offers an extra project slot you can buy without leaving the dialog. If you cannot manage billing yourself, it names who can. Deleting a project you no longer need frees its slot too.
Why was my project refused?
New project is visible to everyone, but only an Admin may create one. If you are a workspace member the dialog returns a permission error when you submit it. Ask an Admin to create the project and add you to it.
