Manage your workspace

Manage your plan and seats

Read the plan your Adduce workspace is on, buy or release seats, find your invoices, and change the card the subscription is charged to.

A seat is a licence, not a headcount. You buy a number of them; each member and each outstanding invitation holds one until it is released.

Amounts are covered in the pictures on this page

Every figure is masked in the screenshots below. Prices live on the pricing page, which is the one place they are stated.

Before you begin

  • Role: Admin. A Member holds nothing at workspace level, so Billing is not in their settings rail and they do not see the page.
  • A plan already started. Everything below assumes a subscription exists.

Steps

Open Settings → Billing. Current plan names the plan and its status. Next payment shows when the next charge falls, how much of the period is left, and the card it will be taken from.

Change plan and Cancel subscription sit under the plan; Change sits under the card.

Seats is the licence position: the count you are billed for, and how many of them are assigned. A full bar means the next invitation will be refused.

Callout 1: licences used against licences billed. Callout 2: the stepper. Callout 3: Update seats, greyed until the count changes.

Set the new count with the stepper, or type it, then choose Update seats. The dialog states the count now, the count after, and the exact prorated amount, which is calculated fresh rather than estimated. Confirm applies it; Cancel leaves the subscription untouched.

Callout 1: Confirm. Nothing is charged until you press it.

Releasing licences never removes anybody. If the new count is below the licences in use, the card warns you: those members keep working, and you simply cannot assign any more until the position clears.

Invoices lists what has been paid, newest first, with filters for a date range or an amount range. View opens that invoice at Stripe, where the PDF is.

The Amount column is covered here; it reads normally in your own workspace.

Change plan, Cancel subscription and Change all hand you to Stripe's billing portal, which opens in its own page. The plan, the card and the billing address are edited there. What you change comes back to this page once Stripe reports it, which is usually within a few seconds.

What cancelling does

Cancelling stops the subscription at the end of the period you have already paid for, and nothing is deleted that day.

The workspace is then held for 30 days. It is not read-only in the meantime: without an active plan it meets the same refusal as any other workspace without one, and that applies to admins too. Two things are exempt — taking a copy of the data out, and starting a plan again, which restores everything as it was. After 30 days the workspace and its contents are removed. To end a workspace deliberately rather than by lapsing, use Delete workspace instead.
